The Early Years Foundation Stage

The Department for Education (DfE) has published the results of the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP) for the academic year 2013-2014.

At Lutley Primary school 83% reached a Good Level of Development

‘In the new EYFSP, children will be defined as having reached a Good Level of Development at the end of the EYFS if they achieve at least the expected level in the early learning goals in the prime areas of learning (personal, social and emotional development; physical development; and communication and language) and in the specific areas of mathematics and literacy, which the Government believes are crucial for later success.’

The report also points out that ‘as the content of the Good Level of Development measure has changed, it is not possible to compare results for the new Profile with previous years.’
