The Early Years Foundation Stage

 The Department for Education (DfE) has published the results of the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP) for the academic year 2016-2017.

At Lutley Primary school 86.7% reached a Good Level of Development

In the EYFSP, children will be defined as having reached a Good Level of Development at the end of the EYFS if they achieve at least the expected level in the early learning goals in the prime areas of learning (personal, social and emotional development; physical development; and communication and language) and in the specific areas (mathematics and literacy), which the Government believes are crucial for later success.

Main findings show that in 2017:

86.7% were 'expected' or ‘exceeding’ in all of the Prime Areas

88.9% were 'expected' or ‘exceeding’ in the Specific Areas

Exceeding expectations and 'Aiming High'

A high percentage of children exceeded expectations in all aspects of learning. The highest aspects were:

Listening and Attention (54.4%)

Understanding (48.9%)

Health and Self-Care (45.6%)

Numbers (44.4%)

Speaking (43.3%)

Self-confidence and self-awareness (42.2%)

Shape, space and measures (40%)
