 RE debate 2015

As part of our ongoing work to promote fundamental British Values in school, the year 5 debate club took part in a live debate with lots of other schools from across the borough.
We all had the right to express our thoughts and opinions freely on a range of thought provoking, sometimes controversial, debates! The motion we debated was 'should animals be kept in captivity?' It was an interesting debate, with a democratic vote at the end from the audience to determine which school won. Unfortunately, this time, we didn't win the debate, however we thoroughly enjoyed taking part and representing our school.

Miss Hobbs was extremely proud of all the children from the debate club. She was particularly honoured to see how well everyone worked together as a team to write, edit and deliver the debate. Well done!
